McClure served in the Reagan and the George H.W. Bush presidential administrations, as Legislative Director for Senator John Tower, and as Associate Deputy U.S. Attorney General. He was the Chief Executive Officer for the George Bush Presidential Library Foundation, and is currently the Executive Director of the Leadership Initiative at Texas A&M University.
