President George H.W. Bush Oral History, 2007-06-01

Description

In this short 2007 interview, President George H. W. Bush recalls his 1988 Presidential campaign, in which he campaigned against Senator Bob Dole (R-KA) for the Republican party ticket. He goes on to talk about the role that Dole played during his Presidency, particularly with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Desert Storm, and the 1990 budget agreement.

Bush served as President of the United States (1989-1993), Vice President of the United States (1981-1989), as well as numerous other government roles. Dole ran against him in the 1988 Presidential Republican primary contest and supported him throughout his Presidency.
