About this Collection

The buttons used in this exhibit are exclusively from the Isabel Doerr Campbell Political Buttons Collection. Originally collected by Isabel Doerr Campbell, this collection is made up of campaign buttons and political memorabilia representing a century of presidential candidates and contemporary political issues.

Born in 1902 in Larned, Kansas, Campbell was an accomplished writer and a well-known philanthropist. She was a longtime member of the Kansas Authors Club and she also served as President of the Fort Larned Historical Society for nearly two decades. Throughout her career, Campbell earned countless awards and recognitions for her dedication to both literature and history. She died in Larned, Kansas, on September 12, 1992.

Her family donated the collection to the Robert and Elizabeth Dole Archive and Special Collections in 2016.
